Hello and Happy Holidays!
Last year Michael planned our anniversary so this year it was my turn. I knew that I wanted to take advantage of my social media platform for our anniversary. Michael had school and I work so we could not go anywhere far. So I decided we should do a mini staycation! So I started doing my research and reaching out to local companies. Sometimes you think an idea is too far fetched, but with hard work and determination, you would be surprised at what you can accomplish and what collaborations you can create with amazing people. We worked with a handful of companies that were amazing and I would love to work with again.
A few nights before our anniversary we went to eat at @Sicilia Mia. This has definitely become one of my new favorite places to eat. Not only was the food fantastic and the staff great, (our waiter was on his knees taking pics of us to get the perfect angles) but Chef Giuseppe was AMAZING! He decided to host us for an exclusive 5-course meal for our anniversary. Everything was so delicious...but the wagyu beef was to die for! It literally melted in your mouth.
The following weekend we stayed at The Kimpton Hotel Monaco and it was so perfect. We were put up in the King Monte Carlo Suite Suit and it had a king bed! Anytime Michael and I get to sleep in a King we are so stocked because we have a Queen bed at home lol. The staff was super sweet and helpful. It was right in the middle of downtown SLC and It ended up being the perfect place to stay.
While we stayed at Hotel Monaco we had the awesome opportunity to eat at Bambara! The restaurant inside the hotel. We had brunch there and it was some of the best food. I got a classic burger and fries. Yes, I was that hungry at brunch lol and Michael got shrimp and grits. His grits are the best I've ever had. No lie!
The next night we had the pleasure of traveling up to Park City to eat at Grub Steak. Grub Steak is ranked as the #1 steakhouse in Utah! I had the Angus Prime Rib (28oz!!!) with a side of mashed potatoes. Michael had the Elk SIrloin. Farm-raised New Zealand Elk Sirloin, poached peach and a side of lingonberry preserve.
Lastly, to end our amazing anniversary staycation we had dinner at The Roof. I am from Utah so I grew up going to The Roof. Fun fact: I ate at The Roof Resturant for my Highschool prom! The roof has a fun and unique vibe with their all you can eat buffet and classic view of the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Even if you are not a member of the LDS church, it is such a beautiful building to
